11 Spices Caramel Chai Recipe

If you’re looking for a new spin on your usual masala chai, then this recipe is for you! Caramel Chai is fun to prepare, and combines the intricate flavors of chai with the creaminess and sweetness of caramel. Without further ado, here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup of Milk (Dairy/Oat/Almond)
  • 2 Tea Bags or 1 1/2 Tablespoons of 11 Spices Masala Chai Blend
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon Caramel Syrup
  • 2 Teaspoons Salt (for a Salted Caramel Twist)

    Steps:

    1. Begin by boiling the water in a saucepan. Once boiling, add the masala chai blend (loose leaf). If you’re making the masala chai from tea bags, pour hot water over the tea bags
    2. In case of loose leaf, let it boil for about 5 minutes, and then add  the milk. Once the milk has full been incorporated into the chai and begins to boil, turn off the heat. For tea bags, let them steep for over 5 minutes, and then add hot milk.
    3. Add the caramel syrup, and the optional salt to the hot chai and stir.( Note: we recommend tasting your chai, before adding the salt. The spicy chai may not need the salt after all)
    4. If you’re making the chai using our loose leaf blend, strain the caramel masala chai before pouring it into a cup. For tea bags, simply remove them! No straining required, of course!
    5. For an extra twist, top off your chai with  whipped cream or steamed milk foam! If you love cinnamon, you may add a dash of cinnamon, and extra caramel syrup:)

Enjoy your 11 Spices Caramel Chai!
